COAST SALISH PORTFOLIO

Municipal & Cultural Projects: Silverdale Creek Wetlands Audiowalk

Created in collaboration with The City of Mission

The Story of the Stó:telo is a five-chapter audiowalk exploring the history and ecology of the Silverdale Creek Wetlands through a blend of Coast Salish and modern design. The project features five custom wildlife-inspired logos, an interpretive sign, and original Coast Salish-inspired design elements.

Beyond graphic design, this project showcases Indigitize’s audio production capabilities, including the writing, production, recording, and mixing of all five audio tracks, bringing the story of the creek to life through immersive sound and storytelling.

This large-scale project required comprehensive planning, ecological and cultural research, ongoing client communication, extensive audio recording and engineering, and purposeful graphic design. Indigitize successfully managed and delivered every aspect of the project independently, ensuring a professional, cohesive result completed on schedule.

ATHLETICS: Coast salish LACROSSE Logos

Western Red Cedar — x̱pá:yelhp

Inspired by the sacred connection between traditional lacrosse sticks and the land, the cedar trees pass their energy to the Xwelmexw below, symbolizing the responsibilities of Stó:lō Tómiyeqw.

Bear — spá:th

Drawing from traditional stories of the sky creatures and four-legged animals playing for the Creator, two bears come together to form one larger bear, symbolizing individual players uniting as a team.

Sasquatch — sásq'ets

Rooted in Stó:lō stories and the traditions of Sts’ailes territory, sásq'ets represents a powerful caretaker protecting the land. The design honours the cultural connections between Sasquatch & S’ólh Téméxw.

Eagle — sp'óq'es

Inspired by the eagle’s role as a messenger to the Creator, two facing eagles represent lacrosse as a traditional means of resolving conflict through reciprocity, connection, and mutual respect.

Rooted in the Indigenous history of lacrosse as the Creator’s Game, this collection of custom logos draws on Coast Salish teachings, stories, and connections to the land. Each design carries its own meaning, celebrating the spiritual, cultural, and communal significance of the game while bringing traditional symbolism into contemporary sports branding. Indigitize conducted purposeful research in order to carry forward accurate cultural teachings into every design.

Originally created for a local lacrosse team, the logos were designed for practical application across uniforms and apparel, with customized colours to complement team branding.

Jersey mockups and simplified one colour versions demonstrate the versatility of each design across practice jerseys, T-shirts, hoodies, and other merchandise.

These designs are displayed in black for clarity and legibility, but can be customized in any colour to suit your needs. For brand consistency, designs typically feature up to three colours, though additional colours can be incorporated as needed. These icons are ideal for use as logos, watermarks, or additional assets to professional reports and presentations.
